Dear Community, the countdown is on - tomorrow is the day! Some of you are probably heading to your families today to spend the holidays with loved ones. In keeping with that, I'm sharing the song "Driving home for Christmas" by Chris Rea with you today. Simply a classic: I arrived at my family's house last night and am looking forward to running the last few errands with my mom today and decorating our Christmas tree. In the evening the whole family is going to a living advent calendar at neighbors. This is an event in my home village, where every day in December another family invites you to their home in the garden and you sing together and drink mulled wine. It's always very nice! Tomorrow we're going to the cinema like every year. Probably sounds a little weird to you, but since I was a kid it's been a tradition to go to the cinema on December 24. 😄Then our annual 3-course meal is cooked and eaten, followed by the gift-giving and an evening of board games. Dear Community,The year is coming to an end. Christmas is just around the corner and Santa wants to give his elves one more little gift. Throughout the year they have helped him make the toys and take care of the reindeers. Last but not least, they have kept Santa warm with super yummy hot chocolate during the cold season.  For their special performance and as a thank you for their great work, Santa would now like to pay them their 13th annual salary. 💡To his advantage, he uses Personio as HR platform and can easily configure the process there.13th annual salaries can be best managed in Personio through one-time compensations. One-time compensations are non-recurring payments whose amount is always different, e.g. bonuses. They are displayed in the employee profile under the salary tab:  One-time payments can either be created in the settings or manually in the employee profile. 🌍 How is Christmas celebrated in different countries?16th Advent Calendar Door

Dear Community,Christmas is celebrated almost everywhere in the world. Be it pompous with colorful Christmas decorations, a bit more discreet and with or without a religious focus. Every country and every culture spends the holidays differently. For Christmas in Germany I’m thinking of:Christmas markets - The traditional markets can be found in other countries as well, but I would say that in Germany you can find them in every city and in (almost) every village. Christmas dinner - In many families there is a feast, which often consists of roasted goose and dumplings or traditional Christmas carp. Cookie baking - The classics of Christmas cookies usually include: Butter cookies, Vanillekipferl, Cinnamon stars, Vanillekipferl and Spitzbuben.However, since I not only have German roots, but also Italian and Nigerian roots, I am also familiar with some other traditions or classics from these two countries.🎅 Christmas in Nigeria:At Christmas, the whole family celebrates. 🎅 How Santa uses Personio: Preliminary payroll20th Advent Calendar Door

Dear Community,Christmas and the ending of the year is always quite busy for Santa Claus. He has to maintain and update the golden book, instruct his elves in the production of presents and finally distribute all the presents to all the children in the world in one night. Besides all the to-dos, there's one thing he mustn't forget: to pay his elves for their hard work! 💰 💡 He has almost completed the preliminary payroll for the end of the year. In the process, however, Santa notices that one of his elves doesn't appear on the list - that can happen with all the wish lists and last-minute adjustments. Luckily this can be easily fixed! To fix the problem, he needs to check a few things in Personio first:The elf’s hire date is in the future Then the hiring date must be corrected   Attributes in the elf profile are not filled out correctly   Go to Settings > Salary & Payroll > Payroll groups to find out the attribute the Payroll groups are built by Go to the elf’s profile and

Dear Community,The year is coming to an end and the term "end of the year report" is coming up more and more often! Santa Claus is thinking the same thing: At the end of the year, he has to review everything and think about the new year. 💪 What were Up's and Down's ? 🦌 How many reindeers were recruited? 🤕 How often did his elves were absent due to illness? 📆 And how do I plan for the new year?He now displays the data and reports in Personio. ⚜️ What decoration should not be missing on your tree?9th Advent Calendar Door

Dear Community, there is are a lot discussion about whether or not to put up a tree for Christmas and if so which one is best: Freshly cut from the forest, plastic or a replica made of wood. No matter what tree you have at home, today we want to know from you how you decorate your it.My tree has been up since December 6. This year I'm trying my luck with a tree in a pot, hoping that it can be replanted afterwards. What must not be missing on the tree since my move to Munich is a small angel made of glass. In my first year my roommate and I bought two to decorate our tree with them. 🎀 Who brings you or your children the gifts at Christmas?2nd Advent Calendar Door

Dear Community, for our 2nd Advent calendar door, I'll tell you who used to put the presents under my Christmas tree when I was a child. In my childhood, the Christkind always came on December 24 after dinner. To my disappointment, there was always raclette, so I had to wait for hours!At some point, my parents announced that they heard a bell - of course, I couldn't hear it, because only adults can hear that. Then every child had to run quickly into one of the bedrooms, so that we don’t scare the Christkind. After about 20min, which is incredibly long in children's minutes, we were then taken out of the room and all the gifts were under the Christmas tree. 🤗 ✨ Do you give each other gifts at Christmas and if so, who or what has brought you or your children the gifts for Christmas so far? I am already very curious what stories you can share. ❤️
