Do you know whether there is a possibility to include substitute’s name in the email reminders for the direct supervisor, whenever the absence of an employee is approaching?

I see! Apologies, we don’t use substitutes so it went over my head.
Currently the workflows are restricted in what attributes you can pull through to the message/ email and it is only there affected person’s name, their supervisor or the title of the workflow so you wouldn’t be able to include the substitutes name.
It is a great idea though and I would suggest using the ‘give feedback’ button in order to suggest that to the team at Personio

Thank you for your reply.
Whenever an employee is requesting a leave, they can select a substitute person to cover them during that period:
We would like this person’s name to be indicated in the absence reminder emails for the direct manager.
