I’m experiencing the same issue and can’t seem to find the right setting to fix this either
Hi @HRtichoke, Hi @Charlie TinkerList.tv,
is it possible that you have changed something on the carry over limit?
Please keep in mind, that you have to do changes here very carefully, as this is always impacting the current balance. You can change back the settings to the old carry over limit and afterwards start fresh by following up these steps: How to retroactively change the carryover limit for vacation days
In case you didn’t change this setting, it would be really helpful if you could remember which one. In case you want this to be looked at in your account, please contact our Personio support via Find answers. :)
Best,
Lena
@Lena @HRtichoke
I get the feeling that the carryover days setting needs better wording.
I was on a call asking about this and had been assured it took account of the fact that we use the hire date as the start/end of annual leave renewal.
But when I activated it, it became clear that this only operates on a Jan/Dec (calendar) cycle.
It meant that everyone suddenly had negative days.
I have asked for a permanent ‘sandbox’ or demo environment so I can test/trial all changes without impacting our live system.
There is some areas like this where I feel the english translation might have got ‘lost in translation’. Hence pushing for an English (UK+IE) focussed user group in the ‘Groups’ tab.
I had helpful support through the customer support desk, but I’m still not able to figure out what exactly changed. Investigating some individual accounts that were impacted, still is making no sense to me why there are negative balances. If I find a proper solution I will post it here . Thanks everyone!
Hi @HRtichoke, were you able to solve your issue?
Let us know if you have any further questions here, or if you’d like to share your solution with the community :)
Best,
Daniele
P.S.: I saw your follow-up question in your other post. @Andrea is currently on holidays but our team will take care of your question soon. :)
Hey Daniele, I’m still waiting to hear back from support since my last message - I guess due to holidays and stuff. Really hoping to get this figured out though.
Hi @HRtichoke,
That’s odd - usually the responses are much faster. It’s true that many of us are on holidays, but we always have support employees on duty.
Anyway, I just asked internally and they will have a look at your ticket ASAP. Thank you for your patience!
Have a great day,
Daniele
Hi ! I have the same issue. Im setting up the tool and after setting a 30 day policy, checking the carryover limit (removing it), assigning all the employees to the policy the total count is still negative. I have checked the previous comments and I havent been able to change it yet. Could you help me?
Thank you
Pauline
@PaulineT I would open up a ticket with support, because I still don’t fully know why the issue happened but at least was able to correct my issue manually. The support team should be able to help you figure out why you’re having that issue.
@HRtichoke - Sorry first time using the community chatbox ! I thought it would go directly to the support team. Thank you !!
Hi @PaulineT
You are alway welcome to Ask the Community whenever you need help or have a question.
This community is full of knowledgeable Personio users as well as a team of our own moderators who are happy to help with general questions.
You can share tips and start a discussion too of course.
But yes, in special cases like this one where an agent we need to have a look into your account, contacting support via Find Answers is the way to go. :)
Best,
Daniele
