We are excited to share our new Whistleblowing course in the Voyager Academy with you. With the upcoming deadline for the EU whistleblowing directive, this new course has been designed to help you implement whistleblowing digitally with Personio.
What’s the EU Whistleblower Directive?
In late 2019, the EU issued a directive on the protection of Whistleblowers. It mandated that all EU Member States offer a channel for employees (and non-employees) to report organisational wrongdoings.
The directive applies to companies with more than 50 employees, public sector institutions, authorities, as well as municipalities with 10,000 or more inhabitants. In terms of timelines, companies with 250 or more employees must comply within two years of the directive while companies with 50 to 250 employees must comply within four years (latest 17 December 2023).
