Hi - I am looking to create a holiday allowance for birthday’s. Is this possible? Therefore, when someone joins it would only give them the allowance if their birthday has not happened yet and when they leave they would not receive this days allowance in payroll.
Hey
Welcome to the Personio Community
This is possible to do, first what I would suggest is to create an absence type for Birthdays and make sure to enable accrual policies. Once you have set this up, please create an accrual policy with the desired entitlement ex. 1 day per year.
After this you will assign the accrual policy to the respective employees. You will need to check manually whether the birthday of the employee has passed. You can use our Birthdays System Report to help you on this.
If they decide to leave the company, you will need to do a manual adjustment to remove the entitlement, after you have terminated the employment.
If you run into any difficulties with this set up, please let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.
Best,
Conor
This sounds very manual. Is there not a better way to do it?
Hey
I am afraid not unfortunately, as currently on Personio there is no ability to automatically check for this information and assign accrual policies. In order to set this up, it will need to be done using the workaround mentioned.
You can enter this feedback into our Ideation Area to create a communication line between yourself and the Product Team.
If there is anything else I can help with, please reach out to me again
Best,
Conor
Hi both
Sasha, for ease I would just make it a common practice within your organisation but remove all the policy creation and assigning.
If you have a generic leave for ad-hoc elements, TOIL, OverTime etc. then they could just put ‘Birthday’ as the leave reason.
It’s open to abuse but assuming you trust your people and they are not abusing the system (which you can always discipline them for) then it will save you a lot of effort.
Conor - could you raise as a feature request a tickbox to allocate leave day for user birthday would be such an easy technical feature to add in the system rather than get Admins to create the workaround.
FInal note Sasha - I’m working on setting up a UK+IE community group on Personio to lead on features and enhancements focussed on the needs of these areas.
If you’re interested can you let
