Question

Paid vacation allowance by age OR parental status

Hello,

I wanted to inquire about setting up paid vacation allowances for our company in certain countries. We have specific labour laws that require us to base paid vacation allowances on the age and parental status of employees.

Our goal is to have all employees in the country receive 23 days of paid vacation. However, employees who are 33 years old or older or are parents/caregivers of a child should receive 25 days of paid vacation. It is essential that this is set up in the same absence type as the vacation balances are included in the information displayed on employees' payslips.

I was wondering if there's any way to automate this process in Personio so that the balances can be updated automatically, rather than having to be manually adjusted for each individual employee.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Tomas

Hi @Tomas,

You have the possibility to create an Accrual policy with 25 days and assign it to the relevant employees. When you assign an Accrual policy you have the option between:

-Hire date
-Start of current period
-Next entitlement period.

In this article you will find more information on how to create an new Accrual policy within an Absence typeCreate accrual policies for absence types.

Best,
