Hi,

I can see the clock in and out function is available at personio. I have a few questions regarding how to use it:

  1. when I go to settings - attendance - tracking profiles, I can see two types of profiles: clock in/out, and manual tracking. what is the difference between them?
  2. I only grand six people with time tracking permission by go to settings - employee roles - attendance data, and tick view and propose. The rest of the employees doesn’t need time track permission, so I tick nothing in attendance data. However, when I go to settings - attendance - tracking profiles, I can see all employees are assigned with clock in/out (default). Why?
  3. Therefore, I tried to remove the unnecessary clock in/ out assignments in my question 2. So I go to employee list and select these employees, and click on actions - where i can only find the options ‘ edit time tracking profile’ but no option for delete from time tracking profile. So my question is how to unassign them from clock in/out profile?
  4. Can employee clock in and out multiple times per day? e.g., lunch time. How to reflect lunch time in the attendance sheet?

Regards,

HR manager Kasey

Hi @Kasey Shen,

The difference between Clock in/out and Manual tracking is that Clock in/out tracks employees live hours in real time, whereas Manual tracking allows employees to record their worked hours at the end of the day or week once they have completed those hours. When you limit an employee’s Access rights to Attendance data, they will not have access to Clock in/out or Manual tracking. So this overrides the settings in Tracking profiles. From the Employee list, you can Edit time tracking profiles only to Clock in/out or Manual tracking. There is no option to choose neither. However, limiting the Access right to Attendance data will make this irrelevant. An employee can have Clock in/out on their Tracking profile but will not have access to it due to their Access rights

An employee can start and stop the clock multiple times per day to reflect breaks and lunch times. Employees can also enter break times using Manual tracking.
