Employee with 2 roles, works in 2 different departments and has 2 managers

Hi Personio Community, 

We have a special case in our company. - Due to two different job roles the employee works in two different departments and has two different supervisors. 

  • How do you solve assigning multiple departments to the employee to ensure correct reporting?
  • How do you solve that both supervisors have manager access and approval rights for the employee?

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to store several Departments or Supervisors in one Employee profile and have them linked to the system functionality these options hold.

You can still document the multiple departments in your Personio account, by adding a custom attribute to have the information regarding several supervisors/departments in the Employee profiles (e.g. "Department II" and "Supervisor II") under Settings > Employee information. Please note that the two newly created Attributes would not be System attributes, so e.g. The Attribute would not be connected with other functionalities such as approvals or the orgchart For more information on creating and using Custom Attributes, see this Help Center article:
