Help, I have uploaded some emails to the documents tab and it’s showing as bin as the file type and can’t be opened. Word and PDF’s are fine. Is there something I have missed:

Hi @Circus2012,

Possibility the file that you are trying to upload is not a supported format.
Only the following file types can be uploaded: .pdf, .docx, .doc, .jpg, .png, .txt, .jpeg, .odt, .ods, .xlsx, .rtf, .xls, .pptx, .ppt, .gif, .tif, .tiff, .bmp, .csv, .rar, .gz, .zip, .7z.

Hi Circus2012,

A .bin file, is a binary type file, meaning your documents is all 0 and 1.
There could be plenty of .bin files such as audio, images …

It’s probably because Personio can not read the type of file you uploaded and converted it into a .bin file.
What was the type of file you were tring to upload ?
Was your email saved into a text file or was it just a raw email ( mainly .eml or .mbox format on Mac, or .msg, .pst, .odt on Microsoft ) ?

I would recommend to download your emails into PDF before uploading them into Personio, I’m sure it will solve your extension problem.

Let me know if it helps,
Nathan
