I would not recommend terminating the profile as this is not needed. Instead kindly create a new section and attributes, which can include information and dates of when the employee transferred from being a Freelancer to a FTE. In addition to this, please do not alter the hire date attribute as this will skew the reporting also. Instead put into your new section the new hire date for when the transfer happened. This allows you to keep all the history and reporting for the previous role under one profile, while also tracking the new information in a section.
