Dear Community,

Would it be possible to track if an employee moves from one Department to another? Has anyone tried it before. If so can you please guide.

Hello @Lakshmi,
Thank you so much for reaching out to the Community with your question.

Thanks to our Custom Reports it is quite easy to track any attribute changes, for example the change of department.

Simply create a custom report and select the type: “Historical Data”. This report type shows changes in employee data over a defined period.

Creating a Custom Report

Select your attribute of choice, in this case “Department”.

When the custom report is created, you will be able to see at a glance which employees changed their department in the timeframe of your choice. Those attributes will be marked orange.

In this example, Bruno has switched to a different department on 24.02.2022

I hope that helps!

Read our Help Center Article Best Practice: Custom Reports for more tips on how to make the most out of our Reports feature.

Hi @Lakshmi,

thanks for sharing your question with the Community!

In the History tab in the employee profile, you can track the changes that are made to the employee data, such as moving from one to another department.

You can find some more details in the Helpcenter article The employee History.

Does this answer your question?

Best regards

Haha, @Marc, we both answered at the same time :grinning:

Very interesting that we shared two completely different approaches.
This is the beauty of Community, you may sometimes get different answers and perspectives so you can choose what is most suitable for your situation!

I’m curious if any other community members would have solved this differently?
