I have an employee who is serving their notice and is on payroll. However we do not want him showing on the org chart functionality as he has been announced as a leaver. How can we do this?

Hi @Circus2012 - we have had to do this in the past, for someone on Garden Leave. These are the steps we used :)

  • Go to Settings > Employee Roles > All employees
  • Under Access Rights > Personal Data > Public Profile, in the ‘View’ column, tick Own and Custom, and click on the word ‘Custom’
  • In the pop-up window, in the first drop-down list, chose a unique identifier for the employee on garden leave (payroll no., or email for example, or whatever you use as unique ID)
  • In the second drop-down list chose ‘is not’
  • In the third drop down list, enter the unique ID for the employee on Garden Leave.

This should then make that specific employee ‘invisible’ to everyone else . Log in as an employee to double-check :)

You can obviously go back in to these settings and remove them once the employee in question has actually left he business - just for tidiness!

Another option is to remove any Supervisors or reports from the departing employee - this automatically removes them from the Org Chart view

Thanks, I have updated this but this requires me to untick the box for “All” to be able to View the public profile. Can I ask what the default will be for everyone else in this case if I leave this unticked? I still need them to see everyone else.

Many thanks

Hello,

provided your employees do not have access to see other employees ‘status’ which I imagine they don’t as then they would see leavers or those who are onboarding in the system, you can set a person’s status to ‘leave’ and they will no longer appear on the org chart to employees

hope this helps!
