How to set up 2 approvers for employee's absence request
Hi all,
I'm struggling on how to set up the approval rule for an absence request if an employee needs to obtain approvals from 2 different Senior team members (they do not have Supervisor roles) in 2 different situations:
When an employee needs to obtain approval from both senior team members
When one senior member doesn't respond to the absence request certain period of time the request is to be forwarded to the other one.
Thank you!

Hey!
What we do, when for example we as HR need to also approve the absence request, is add people to the approval process. This can be a specific employee or someone with a certain role, or supervisor/supervisor of supervisor.
You can also make that specific to a certain ‘employee filter’ which basically means a specific team. Then after the request, the first specific person or role will have to approve and if that has happened it will go to the 2nd approver. For the 2nd part, I think you can create a workflow for this but I don’t have a similar situation. You can put multiple people in a certain role so that either one of the people in that role can approve the request. But you’d have to test it . Hope this helps!

Hi @help_needed
I would consider if using a role for this might be a good solution for you.
In the situation 1 where both need to approver, I would just set them both up as approvers in the workflow as usual, as you can have it go directly to specific people.
In situation 2, If senior member 2 is the manager of senior manager 1, you could use delegation so that the 2nd receives the request when the 1st is absent. Alternatively, I would set up a role that they both have assigned and send the request to that role. It would then go to both senior members but only 1 would need to approve it. You would just need to teach the approvers that 1 should be the primary approver and the other should only approve in the absence of the other.
I've managed to resolve the situation by setting up a specific role which I've assigned to both of the approvers and I think it's a good solution for the moment.
Have a great day,
