Hi Community,

Time management plays a central role in productivity and personal well-being. One of the key elements for staying calm and collected in a fast-paced environment is, for example, the reduction or targeted planning of meetings. Some of you might have already established a framework like "no meetings before 11 a.m." or similar, that aims to promote the most productive phases of the day.

💡 At Personio, we also have a so-called "Winning Wednesday" on which there are no internal meetings. The goal here is to support employees in accomplishing their tasks and thus avoid interruptions, such as those caused by too many meetings.

Why time management is crucial for HR professionals

Time management means nothing other than how you schedule your own time. Whether the phases can then be classified as "productive" depends on how much or what one manages to accomplish in the planned time.

As an HR professional, you are faced daily with tasks such as hiring new talent, personnel development and training, all the way to dealing with internal conflicts and creating a positive corporate culture. With an increasing amount of tasks, it can be challenging to maintain an efficient schedule. The trick here then is to manage your time so that you can work efficiently and take advantage of productive phases to achieve the results you want.

ℹ️ In an 8-hour workday, people actually spend less than 3 hours working productively on their tasks, according to a study from the UK.

The results clearly show how important it is to develop routines in our workflows or use special methods to plan our working time more wisely and thereby take our productivity to the next level! 🚀

Win, Win

Imagine what it would be like if you could get your work done more efficiently without impacting the quality of your tasks. With a well-structured schedule, you can do just that.

By focusing on the important tasks, prioritising them and scheduling them specifically, you can prevent periods of stress and create a better work-life balance. In other words, time management can help you focus on what's important and better manage your workload.

Let's get practical: Here are some methods that can help you

🍅 Pomodoro Technique

25-minute work sessions with 5-minute breaks.

❌ Time Blocking Method

"Block" away! Here, professional (and private) tasks are packed into the calendar in time blocks.

Eisenhower Matrix

Here you can organise your to-do list into four separate quadrants and sort them into important and unimportant as well as urgent and non-urgent. Urgent and important tasks need to be done immediately. You can decide to follow up on the tasks that are important but not urgent. Delegate the tasks that are not important but urgent. Tasks that are neither important nor urgent: Delete.
