Error exporting cycle participants in the Performance module (corrupted Excel file)

Hi everyone!

In the Performance module, it is not possible to export the participants of a cycle. The error that appears is: Microsoft Excel. “We found a problem with the content of the cycle. Would you like us to try to recover as much of the content as possible? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.”
When clicking Yes, another Microsoft Excel message appears saying: “The file is corrupted and cannot be opened.

Hi Pat,

This kind of Excel export issue usually happens when the generated file has formatting or encoding problems. As a workaround, you might try exporting the data in a different format (like CSV) if that option is available, or reprocessing the export using a lightweight data validation tool to check and clean the file structure before opening it in Excel.

Another option is to open the file in Google Sheets first, then re-save it as a new Excel file, which sometimes resolves corruption errors. Hopefully this helps until the export issue is fixed on the platform side.
