Hi guys,

Is there a way to automatically assign the time off policies to new employees based on i.e. their location? Or generally assign some policies as a standard process without having to do this manually?

I already checked the workflow section and time off settings but couldn’t find something. Thought maybe you guys have a workaround for this or can share how you do it. :-)

Thanks!

Sabbu

Hi @SabbuSchreiber ! Apologies, I missed this one. Tagging some folks who could potentially help with this.

Hi, I’m replying, even though I don’t really have a solution. More as a conversation. I noticed some time ago that assigning time offs had changed and we haven’t really found a solid solution yet.

It seems to be different also between 1) you mark a person “hired” in recruiting → fill in HR information; and 2) you add an employee manually in the employee list. In the latter there was a possibility to choose different time offs easily.

But sorry - not an answer you are looking for, but an interesting topic.

It’s a great question, but we haven’t found a way to have a set of standard time off policies that are auto-assigned to new joiners sadly. We have steps in our onboarding checklist to make sure we add the correct ones, but I think auto-assigning based on pre-set criteria would be a total win.

Thank you all for your insights! 💛

@Edda van der Ende you are right, I noticed this too. It would be great if we could add the policies as well when we hire someone within recruiting. And @HRJoy I agree, this would be a huge win!

Maybe @Moe can forward this input to the right person. 😉

Thinking of it, the same could apply for the work schedule but that one might be a bit tougher with the different weekly working hours. 🙃

Hi Sabbu,

I also gave it a try, since we have quite a few absence types and accrual policies ourselves, but I couldn’t find a workaround either. I would definitely welcome one though! :-)

Wishing you a great day.

Best regards,
Diana

Hi @SabbuSchreiber !

Just wanted to let you know I’ve shared your topic with one of my colleagues as feedback. 😄

I would like to +1 this! Similar to what others have said, my company has a lot of time off policies and it can be very time consuming to manually add each policy, especially if we have a lot of hires at once. It would be great if this could be automated during onboarding.

Thanks!

@Carly Murphy do you have any ideas on this one?
