Hello everyone,
You may have noticed that accrual policies in Personio are now called time off policies. This change expands on what could be done with accrual policies.
I wanted to share a new resource in the Help Center that will provide more details on this change as well as answers to some of your questions.
Head over to this Help Center article to learn all about this transition to time off policies, including:
- Key benefits and example use cases
- Details on what this change means
- What you need to do as part of this transition
Here’s a quick preview of the article:
The transition to the new time off policies system
We’ve recently introduced an updated version of accrual policies, now called time off policies.
Accrual policies only contained settings that affected the accrual and granting of entitlements. They were only relevant for time off with a maximum entitlement (for example, paid time off).
Time off policies now include the settings below, previously located in the time off type itself:
- Allow half-day requests
- Is a certificate required?
- Is a substitute required?
- Can a substitute request this time off type simultaneously?
- Valid on
This means that employees now need a time off policy assigned for every type of time off. This includes types of time off without maximum entitlement. If that's not the case, employees cannot see or request that type of time off, and administrators cannot edit any time off periods.
While this approach requires manual effort during the transition, it offers key benefits that will save you time and effort moving forward. It also enables us to develop more features, like localized time off templates and automated leave handling.
