We want to make sure any changes to salary and one-time compensations are entered correctly, and so would like to create a way for the changes to go through some kind of approval workflow before it’s fully updated in an employee profile. How it would work is that one person enters the new salary or the one-time compensation and another would double check it and approve. 

The closest I’ve come to this is making a new attribute in the employee profile that would go through a ‘propose’ cycle first, but this seems rather tedious. Is there any way for this to work within the Salary section?
