Our company uses a custom holiday accrual policy that I’m not able to replicate in Personio. The key policy rules are:

  • Employees accrue holiday on a monthly basis from hire date. Example: An employee hired on 1st February with 24 days per year will have accrued 2 days of holiday on the 1st of March
  • There is no holiday year end-date where outstanding holidays are terminated, instead this is a rolling policy where the only limit is how many days you can accrue in total. This number is set to your annual allowance. Example: Employee with 24 holidays per year can accrue up to 24 days. If he has 24 accrued days and continues working without taking any paid leave, he will remain at 24 accrued holidays.

Is there a way to reflect one or both of the above in Personio’s paid vacation policies? We could manage the max holidays manually if needed, it’s mainly the monthly accrual that we need reflected on the system.

Many thanks

Hi @HSK_000,

I just checked for you as I thought this has to be possible. 😊

When you create a new policy within a time off type, you’re able to select the granting method, for either up front or after a fully worked month:

Additionally, you’ll have to make sure that carryover is allowed. You don’t have to select anything for the advanced settings:

Currently there’s no option to limit the balance at i.e. 24 days so I guess that’s something you’ll have to do manually, or create a report for it. But you could submit this as a suggestion or feedback to Personio directly, maybe that’s something others are requesting as well. 😊

I hope that helps?

Thank you, this did the trick!
