The holiday calendar seems to be pulled from the 'Location' setting in the public profile.

Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of possible options here: German federal states (Hamburg, Saxony, Berlin, etc.), Mallorca, Barcelona, Austria, and Remote.

The problem is that Spain and Austria have different holidays depending on the state/province. For instance, Mallorca has different holidays than Madrid. Austrian states also have different holiday calendars. Currently, the selection here is too imprecise for our purposes.

The best solution would be a selection option with the ISO code. For example, ES-AN for Spain Andalusia.

Is there a possibility for employees to set their own holiday calendars? Alternatively, can more options be provided to cover all countries and states/provinces of the world and their holidays?

Hi @mrbulgogi,

As well as assigning a Public holiday calendar to your entire company, you can also assign Public holiday calendars to each individual Office. This will be useful in your case, as you have Offices in different countries, states and provinces.

To assign a Public holiday calendar to a specific Office, follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings > Organization > Offices.
  • Select the relevant office and click Edit next to the office name.
  • In Public holidays, select a public holiday calendar from the dropdown.
  • Click Submit to confirm your selection.

As you have mentioned, some of the calendars you require are not included in the list of the System public holiday calendars which come by default in Personio. For this, you can create a Custom holiday calendar. To do this, go to Settings > Work Hours and Absences > Public Holidays > Add new.
You will find more information on this as well as a full guide in our Help Center article:

Employees will then be able to see their own Public holiday calendars in the Absence and Attendance tabs of their profile as well as from the Calendar view by selecting themselves or by using the Holidays filter from the All employees view.
