has anyone found a way to bulk-download payroll documents from Personio?
I recently learned from our HR team that payroll documents are not included in the general document bulk export and need to be downloaded manually by each employee. Honestly, this seems quite outdated – especially in 2025, when automation and AI are becoming standard even for more complex tasks.

if the payroll documents are correctly ‘stored’ under the category Payroll - you can click on in (or if you want - an all documents as one, depending) and then go to the first button (from right to left after Upload & Create new) above them, looking like this:
and export them as a ZIP-file.

unfortunately, this does not resolve my issue. The documents are correctly categorized under "Payroll," and I was able to download them as a ZIP file — however, the folder turned out to be empty.
