Our colleagues can’t see each other’s phone number from Personio mobile app. I set the permissions/access rights to access each other's private profiles, but they can't see it.

You can only view the public profiles of other employees, regardless of your viewing rights in the Personio desktop app.
The mobile app shows these attributes: Position, Office, Email, Birthday, Department, Supervisor. This is why you are unable to see phone numbers on the mobile app, even though you can see them on the desktop app.

Could you explain why this change has been made? At the moment the list below (copied from your website) doesn’t really fulfill any needs for us. People have used the app to find phone numbers and to log in time or absences.
Also, birthday shouldn’t be visible there as not everyone wishes to share this information with everyone. Before, the app showed people’s public profile information, which was useful as we could monitor it ourselves.
I will send feedback on this matter, but as I don’t get any replies to the feedbacks, I’m not sure where it goes.

Thanks for your reply. I've already set it up in the desktop app to see each other's public profiles. We can see everything else about each other except the phone number.

If you are referring to the mobile app, it is normal that you won’t be able to see phone numbers, as only the attributes I have listed above will be displayed. However, if you mean that you can’t see them on the desktop app, I would encourage you to open a support request via Help & Feedback. Help & Feedback > Browse for help > Contact us. Please be aware that only Account Owners can contact our Support Team. In case you are not registered as such, please contact your colleagues in the role, or add this information to your account.
