Custom Roles Configuration

Hi Team,

We’re trying to create a custom role to assign permissions to a specific group of people and to apply conditions based on a custom attribute. I reffered to this article on support portal.

Here’s what we did:
1. Created a custom attribute “Engagement type” (single-select) with three options.
2. Populated this field for two people with value “Contractors on a project basis.”
3. Created the custom role “Contractors on a project basis.”
4. When opening Conditions for filtering employees, the custom field “Engagement type” does not appear in the list, where as per description in this article it is said "You can also use custom attributes that have a single selection, date, or numbers attribute type."

Could you please advise why this field might be missing, or what needs to be adjusted to make it appear in the role-filter conditions?
I’m attaching screenshots for reference.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Regards, Valentyna

Hello - I’ve checked in our own setup, and when I add a ‘Condition’ within an Employee Role I do get the option to add a Custom Attribute that has a Single Selection as a filter.

Looking at the screengrabs you’ve provided @Valentyna , I can’t see anything different about how you have set your Custom Attribute up to flag why this wouldn’t be working for you.

So I think you might need to submit a Support ticket for some more expert Personio advice on this one!

Interesting, I actually haven’t used this condition yet but I don’t have the option for a custom attribute neither. @Valentyna would you mind sharing the answer once you get one? So I know for the future if we need this 😃

@SabbuSchreiber  - we haven’t actually used the Condition filter as a method to automatically add employees to a particular Employee Role yet. So it’s been educational to investigate it!

Hi, Team :-) thanks for investigating this with me. I really appreacite your time & support @HRJoy  @SabbuSchreiber I checked that with the support team and the response is “this is a new release that will be available to all customers. This feature is currently being gradually rolled out across all Personio accounts.” So, it seems soon we all will have it.
