Hi there,

we have Microsoft 365 Exchange sync activated for some absence types.

However, it seems that there is no way to use this for absence types other than e.g. sick leave or payed leave as it always synchronizes absences as “Show as ‘Out of Office’”. This type shows people as completely unavailable which is not correct for mobile work. Here “Show as ‘Working Elsewhere’” would apply.

It would be really good to have this visible in Outlook, so colleagues can see easily if somebody is not onsite and maybe the meeting needs some other kind of scheduling.

Do we miss something here? Because that should be some kind of basic function for calendard sync?

Hi @blindzero,

With the Calendar integration, absences are transferred to employee’s calendars (Google Calendar, Microsoft Office Calendar) and will be displayed as “Out of Office”. However, absence entries assigned to the absence type category Remote work will not be transferred into employee’s calendars. You can check the Category of an absence type by going to Settings > Work Hours and Absences > Absence and clicking on the absence type. Category is displayed under General settings.

You can find more information from our Help Center in these links:

However, I can understand your point and I would encourage you to send this feedback through the new ‘Give feedback’ feature directly in your Personio account. Submissions will be forwarded directly to the relevant product teams. You can find more information in this community post.

If there is an update in this area, you will be informed through our Personio Product Updates or via an in-app notification.

Have a lovely day!

Best,

Steve

Hi @Steve

yes, exactly, but that’s the issue for us…

It would be great to have these as “working elsewhere” in our Calendars, the “show-as”-type of Microsoft for this purpose…
Unfortunately, our previous HRM system had this capability and I am 100% sure it is technically possible...so dont get why it is not possible in Personio 🤐.

Why to have these mobile work absences in Outlook? Well, it might be important if you want to schedule a on-site meeting (yes, even nowadays some meetings have to be on-site due to material or so needed) or to know if you need to book a room or not and the like…
And as Personio is just the “management”-system and Outlook is our primary calendar tool it is not very user-friendly.

And it seems to be like this for the last years already as a missing feature and no update at all...so wondering what the roadmap on this is?

Best,
Matthias

Hi @blindzero,

I understand your frustration. I would still really encourage you to use the new Give feedback feature in your account, as it goes directly to the Product Team and the more customer voices they hear, the more likely a change can be implemented. Although I can’t guarantee anything, if there is an update in this area, you will be informed through our Personio Product Updates or via an in-app notification.

Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Best,

Steve
