We’ve recently had a UI update on Personio.

But with it have come a number of function changes that have made on-boarding much worse.

Starting with the removal of drag and drop to upload documents into onboarding.

Over the course of 1 person onboarding for us, we drag and drop upwards of 80 documents (references, emails, id docs, etc) 

Now, in order to save an email to an onboarding we have to drag and drop it into our web-browser, which will trigger it to download and save to our downloads folder. We then have to click on the Browse button, then go to downloads, then the file.

So what was a simple drag, drop, done - is now a drag, drop, click 4 buttons, done.

Adding an extra 10-15 seconds per document.

x80 documents x10+ people a month = 2-3 HOURS!!! of added time

 

Then there is also the removal of the “Mark to Complete” button when you’ve uploaded everything necessary.

Previously we would complete uploads and click one button to mark complete.

Now you have to go back, click the traffic light, click the dropdown then click complete then click save.

So 1 click is now 5 clicks. 

Over the course of a month, that’s another 10-15 minutes added for no reason.

 

So what I’m saying is, in one UI update, there have been 2 features removed that have added upwards of 3 hours to our workflow.

 

Features are supposed to increase efficiency. Not decrease it.

 

Can this be looked into ASAP please!

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing several problems as a result of the recent updates.

If you don't mind, I'd like to get more information on the first part: when you say that in order to save an email, you have to drag and drop it into the web browser, can you be more specific about which step you're referring to? If you could add a screenshot (excluding all sensitive data), it would help me better understand your example.

On the other hand, when it comes to updating the status of an onboarding task, a more versatile approach was preferred, which could include more possibilities than the previous version:

 

Since I can well understand the frustration of having to consider new steps, if you’re not happy with the recent updates, I would encourage you to send us your feedback through the new ‘Give feedback’ feature directly in your Personio account. I don’t quite understand the “more versatile approach” you mention as i can’t see any difference at the moment except the removal of the “Mark as Complete” option.

We could use the traffic light and drop down before. 

It looks to me like a removal of something vs an update of an option.

 

In relation to the drag and drop

This is a screen shot of one of our On-Boarding tasks. 

Previously, we could grab an email from outlook and just drag and drop onto the “Choose file” option and it would auto upload.

Now when you do it, the drag and drop option is gone so in order to upload a document we have to click “Choose File” and find the document.

Its the same thing for PDFs, photos, etc.

The drag and drop function being removed is a huge thing. It saved so much time.

We fully understand that updates may not always satisfy all our customers, and that they may not always be immediately seen as improvements.
