We’re excited to share some important updates to our mobile app that closed major feature gaps for teams using Personio Payroll or Datev integration. Thanks to your feedback and our ongoing mission to bring the full Personio experience to your pocket, requesting leave on mobile is now more compliant, and consistent.
What was missing?
Until November 2025, certain payroll compliance questions essential for processing absences like sick leave, child sick leave, parental leave, etc. were only available on the web. This meant:
- Mobile users couldn’t specify whether their doctor issued an eAU when requesting sick leave.
- Additional payroll-relevant information (e.g., whether any work was carried out on the first day of leave) wasn’t captured, risking payroll processing delays.
What’s new? 📱
Last month, we’ve closed these compliance gaps on mobile with a unified, dynamic question flow that mirrors the web experience:
- If your company uses Personio Payroll and an employee with public health insurance requests sick leave requiring a certificate, they can specify whether their doctor issued an eAU.
- If your company uses Personio Payroll or DATEV, employees requesting sick leave, child sick leave, maternity/paternity leave, or family care leave can now provide all payroll-relevant information in the mobile app and finalize their request without logging into Personio on the web.
