The salary tab doesn't provide any good overview when it comes to their base/100% salaries and their actual/prorated/or so-called fixed salaries. 

Staff with editing rights, can still slightly more via the ‘manage’ button (showing base/100% and effective separarate), but that is alsnot not there for other roles that should not have this editing permission. 

The same goes for countries that work with annual salaries, where the monthly salaries are not shown below. 

 

What is our best option here? Is there a way to customize these fields or record this elsewhere?

Hi - all I can do is agree unfortunately!

The Salary tab doesn’t give a very detailed view for the ‘standard’ employee view, and is not customisable via Settings (either under the Salary or Employee Role headings). As you say, if Employees have View permission for the Salary tab (for their Own salary), they still don’t have the ability to see FTE salary, or the historic salary rates. And obviously it’s not sensible to give everyone ‘Edit’ rights for this category just for them to be able to see this info…!

The only way I can think that you could customise is to add a ‘Salary’ section to the employee profile, with the attributes that you would like to include - however, this would need to be manually updated whenever salary changes were made for any employee, so definitely not a great solution.

Improving the Salary tab and what is displayed therein should be up for consideration for the Personio roadmap I reckon :)

Dito to what ​@HRJoy says. I’m also missing other salary attributes/settings within the tab like target variable compensation and OTE.
