I’ve run into a problem with the time-off configuration.
Ideally, we need it to work so that the “valid on” period is Monday–Sunday, excluding public holidays.

In Estonia, employees are entitled to 28 days of paid vacation. These are calendar days, so weekends are counted as well — meaning it’s not 28 working days.

To use the time-off module effectively, we need a solution that automatically accounts for this. While we could exclude holidays manually, that would defeat the purpose. We’d like the system to handle this automatically, without requiring manual edits.

Hi @Mihkel Lokk,

I’m not entirely sure but I think this is connected to the work schedule. Vacation days are not counted/deducted on days off and those are pulled from the work schedule.

Maybe there’s a way to calculate how many working days the vacations would be and use that?

Otherwise maybe someone else has a better idea 😊

Very interesting. Any thoughts on this @LegoMD or @HRJoy ?

Hi - we haven’t created any new time off schedules for a while, but looking at the updated set-up options, if you choose ‘blank form’ when creating a policy against a time off type, you then have the option to pick ‘Mon-Sun’ as the ’Valid on’ days, which looks like it then ignores the Work Schedule:

@Mihkel Lokk You would need to set this up and allocate the policy to a test employee to see if it does what you need it to do - but it feels like it should?

@HRJoy Thats the way I set it up atm.

But this mean that I have to manually change the time-off times to exclude the holidays.

Kind of extra work I would not want to do :)

I guess its up to Personio to add more options for “valid on”

Oh apologies, I misunderstood - so you would like them to add a Valid On option that is ‘Mon-Sun excluding public holidays’?

Yes.

Then the Remaining days would show correctly every time. Right now It will not be accurate unless I exclude holidays.

Yes - makes total sense. Over to Personio in that case!

Thank you @Mihkel Lokk and @HRJoy !

Hi, unfortunately I think, that Personio does not have a solution for this at the moment :-(  In our Personio, we don’t even have the option to choose Monday–Sunday ….
