Why an attribute created by me isn't displayed in a email step from the onboarding process ?

The attribute is simple called “ buddy”, it’s a text and when i add it, in an automatic email it doesn’t display the value . I’ve checked the name of the attribute is write correctly {{buddy}}, that the person has an value at this attribute…
