Annual Leave for part time employees

An employee works 3 full days and 2 half days each week which is reflected in their assigned work schedule. When requesting annual leave, the system doesn’t seem to be picking up the work schedule. For example, if the employee requests a week of annual leave, the system takes 5 full days from their allowance instead of taking in to account two of the days are half days. Is there a way to resolve this without the employee having to make separate requests across the week?

Thanks

Dear @GraceB,

Welcome to the Personio Community, we are thrilled to see you here 🎊 🥳. I am happy to support you with your inquiry.

If you have selected a daily absence type for your part-time employee, Personio will calculate the number of days that the employee works according to the work schedule for their leaves. Since your employee is working 5 days a week, the system will calculate as well 5 days. If you want the system to consider the working hours of your employee for their leaves, please assign them an hourly absence type. This way, Personio will take away 32 hours of leave instead of 5 days.

In the following help center article you will find a guidance on how to manage hourly absences:

Please let me know if this information was helpful for you, or if there is any other question I can support you with.

In case you haven’t done so yet: it would be lovely if you could take two minutes to say Hi and introduce yourself here: it’s a great way to get started in the Community & meet other HR Professionals!

I wish you a lovely day 🌻.

Best,

Andrea
