I have a question about the sick leave registration in the system. Why do I have to fill in an end date when registering. I do not know when the employee will be better when he reports sick. How do you solve this? Is it possible to create a sick leave and keep it open until the employee is better? It would be even better if we can get reminders when a sick leave is not closed yet/employee is not registered as better.
Hi
You can actually delete the end date and leave it empty, and the system will allow you to request it:
The request would be shown in the Absence calendar like this:
If this was open, let’s say, from the beginning of the month, the absence would appear like this:
The employee can then edit the absence to add the end date. If this had been previously approved, the absence request will be trigger again.
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to have reminders about the absences that are not closed yet. I would encourage you to send this idea/feedback/suggestion through the new Give feedback feature directly in your Personio account. Submissions will be forwarded directly to the relevant Product teams. You can find more information in this Community post.
If there is an update in this area, you will be informed through our Personio Product Updates or via an in-app notification!
Have a lovely rest of the day!
Best,

Hi
Thank you for your response! Unfortunately our settings for the sick leave are a bit different and therefore we must fill in an end date. I tried changing our settings and found a wat to register the way you are explaining above. Unfortunately this messes with other settings we currently have. We are now trying to figure out a way together with our consultants. Do you have any experience with Dutch regulations regarding sick leave, mainly Wet Poortwachter? We would like this to be implemented in Personio with automic triggers during the sick leave. I am wondering how other employer do this now.
best regards,
Merel
Hi
I’m sorry to hear that this can not be implemented in this way in your company
I don’t have much experience in the Dutch regulations regarding the sick leave but in this community, we also have a special group for all Personio users and HR Professionals in the Netherlands. It's a place where you can ask questions and exchange tips and best practices
There are already some discussions going on, and some very friendly members, so feel free to ask directly in there. Maybe somebody in the group can tell you what settings they use for Wet Poortwachter.
Just click Here to accept the invite and join the group, then you can click on the Ask the Community button directly in the group to submit a post there.
I hope you get some connections, and you can discuss further about this topic!
Please let me know if you have further questions!
Wishing you a great afternoon!
Best,
Zulema
