Hi,

What would be the best way to have a re-boarding for returning employees, e.g. from parental leaves? The employees are “active” in our system. Also, re-boarding would have fewer steps than our onboarding.

Thank you for your comments!

Edda

Hey @Edda van der Ende

At the moment it is not possible to have two onboarding templates for one employee, meaning that if you assign a new one to re-boarding an employee, the previous one will get lost.

I would encourage you to send this idea/feedback/suggestion through the new ‘Give feedback’ feature directly in your Personio account. I can imagine many other Personio users would find this helpful too 🤗

Submissions will be forwarded directly to the relevant product teams. You can find more information in this community post.

If there is an update in this area, you will be informed through our Personio Product Updates or via an in-app notification.

Have a lovely day!

Best,

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Okay, but it would technically be possible to put an onboarding for a person even if they have gone through it at some point in the past? It doesn’t matter in our case that the old onboarding tasks would get lost as they have been in the past and no track record is needed.

Edda

Hi @Edda van der Ende

No worries, more than happy to help! 😊

Yes, that is correct. It possible, however not our recommendation as it deletes this previous onboarding process.

Best,

Fernanda

Hello Edda,

I will just add that if you’re doing so, all the due dates are going to be aligned with the hiring date. So for your employee ( or any employee involved in the re-onboarding) all steps will be seen as delayed.

Nevertheless, in our case at Enko, we created a template for people that are coming back from a long period of absence. Apart from the due date, it’s working great.

Cheers,
Nathan

Hi @Nathan Jolly

This is very useful information, indeed. FYI to @Fernanda T as well, in case you weren’t aware of this.

Nathan, do you have this template in Personio or as a separate document or how do you do this? Thank you for your help!

Edda

@Edda van der Ende ,

We have created a specific Onboarding Template within Personio.
When an Employee is coming back, we remove the first Onboarding Template, because like you said, we don’t need to keep anything from his/her previous onboarding. Everything was already stored in Personio.

When applying to him/her the new onboarding template, we are always writing in the different steps that Due Dates don’t matter.

I don’t know if you have already created Onboarding templates, but if not, you need to go in Settings>Workflows>On-Offboarding. If you can not see that, it means your administrator needs to give you access.

You can also use this documentation if needed : https://support.personio.de/hc/en-us/articles/115002529589-Create-on-and-offboarding-workflows

Let me know if that helps,
Nathan

Thank you! Yes, we have on- and offboarding templates in use.

Double checking: you have created a new template but assigned random due dates or how do you do it with the time line?

I’m our administrator, so I can fix this at our end :)

Indeed, we are using random dates (0 days before hire in our case).

Cheers,
Nathan
